A Prominent Parent Dinner

Tonight we went to a chinese dinnner hosted by a prominent parent in our school. Come to find out he produces parts in a plant in Alabama for KIA autos. The teachers were served a 12 course dinner and presented with gifts for attending...

About 30 teachers attended the dinner presented by a prominent parent.  The first course: pickeled radishes and beer.  I feel right at home!  I love Korea-   hang goo chew I o... say it just like it sounds!

We had 2 koreans sitting at the table with us.  One went to Purdue and loved Mad Mushroom Pizza, (small world).  When we asked them what was in each dish they replied, "Don't ask, just enjoy!"  So we did!

Lily says, "Chopsticks are awesome!"

Again, we didn't ask... use your imagination!  xo

Again, they wouldn't tell us... but you can see the octopus in the bowl!  MMMMMmmmm,, good!

The kids had a fantastic time and ate everything... we were so proud!

Mr. C loved Roan!  He wanted to take him home with him.

These guys were paid to wave goodbye to us, and got a swift kidney punch if they stopped... they don't mess around here!

The teacher thank you gifts.  Hang- goo chew I o!

Peace Park

This area is known as banana street- there are lots of tiny shops and restaurants.

Lily and Roan loved this shop called May May :)

There is a lot of juice from this one pole!  and every pole is like this!

There are potties like this.....  with all sorts of options, bidet, blow dry, massage...

and like this, where you just hope your foot doesn't slip in!

Not sure how motivational this reflection journal is:  if you can't read it, it says
"Today, which was proved to be fruitless, is the day that the dead in the past was longing for."
I guess it gets lost in translation.

To think in NH these are WILD!  (it's a chipmunk)

A gorgeous pagoda in the middle of the city.

Totally worth the 9000 won.  ahhhhhhhhh.....

We are finally getting settled in to our new home, although still waking up at 3:00 in the morning. The kids have made tons of new friends and we are all learning some Korean.  The school is amazing, and has very deep pockets- you ask for a pen and get a smart board!

Please e-mail us or leave a message on here, the kids (and we) love to hear from each of you!  xoxoxo
