Information!

We left last night from Incheon Airport in Seoul to travel to the Philippines.  While we were having dinner we started talking to this lovely lady and her boyfriend.  They were travelling to the Philippines, too, but not to the same hotel.  She put up with my basic Korean practice by smiling a lot, and saying, "Oh, your name is Liane?"  They were really great, and also shared delicious Paris Baguette cheesecake with the kids... love her!

We also met this girl who came right up to us and started talking.  She was great!

While at the airport I stared to notice some signs that had the main idea in English, but then, ummm... no so much, so... Notice!

Information!

Notice to Passengers!
Caution!  1cm.

AED!  Do not use unless emergency!  (Drat, I was trying to get Gary to let me practice on him!)

On the airplane we received complimentary cocktails and beer.  Mainlla beer offers Smooth Taste and Clean Hit.

Manila Beer is a premium strong beer made from 100% malt.  It also uses special yeast and noble hops to create a distinctive premium flavor and aroma. Get ready for a truly unique and satisfying strong beer experience.  I AM!

We arrive at the airport and are waiting for the shuttle.  Notice the duckie by R-Man's shoulder?  Well, we got the great idea from my brother David, and the duckie from Linda Prud'homme, and we decided that every once in a while we will sneak the duckie into a picture in the blog.  So... this time is a gimme, but from now on, keep your eyes open :)

The ocean side view.... ahhhhhhh.....

This is the pool where we are staying, actually this is just one small part of the pool...
This picture is for you Garrett!

In front of the resort is an estuary type lagoon with crazy coral and creatures.

Some kind of jelly like anemone.

Mangrove trees are all over the place, too.

We usually start off every trip with a visit to the supermarket to get supplies for our stay.  The supermarket here is in the mall, which is heavily guarded.  On the way I snapped a bunch of pictures of the area.

And the taxis... you know me and crazy motor bike add- ons!

I guess Spam is big all over Asia.  I just never realized the popularity of spiced ham.

We needed milk to go with our cereal, and all of the milk here comes pasteurized in those boxes that will survive the apocalypse.  The kids are checking it out.

Squiz.  :)

This is banana catsup.  I don't know if it tastes different than regular catsup, but if I try it I will let you know.

Taxis waiting for customers.

Lovin' the crazy low rates.

Two places I would like to go eat.  Cresty Jen, and Chooks to Go.

To get into our compound there are two armed guards who check the driver, the car, and the trunk.

Using the underwater camera... sort of... that R-Man got for his birthday.

Jumping into the pool.

Kick off your shoes and relax your feet...

More underwater camera use... this time the right way :)

Digging on the shores of the Sulu Sea.

This girl loves to catch sea creatures.

With a storm coming...

it is time for us to head inside and cool off!  Monday we are going on a tour of Cebu and Bohol, and then Thursday we are island hopping...  look for the duckie!  xoxoxo
