Back in the USA!

Finally home in the US!  YAY!  A hot,  hot Florida day.

One thing we loved about Lego land is that everything is made of Lego or looks like it came from a Lego set.  Like these horses on the carousel.

We saw this sleeping knight getting a surgery
.

There is a whole Lego world.

Jousting.

Lego driving school.

R-Man got a ticket for reckless driving.

Hanging with Emmet and Wild Style from the Lego Movie.

On the way to CB we stopped to get some candy.

We thought there was goat milk ice cream, but there wasn't.  Only fudge.  So we got some to share.  Except then we forgot to share it and brought it back to Korea, where I ate most of it.

Pooks riding a horse at Auntie Sherry's barn

R-Man, too.  He only went one lap.

Kennedy Space Center.  To think, both of these kids were born so close...

These are the fuel tanks and solid boosters for the Space Shuttle Atlantis.  Can you see us standing at the bottom?  And these are just the FUEL TANKS!

Inside you can see the actual Atlantis, but from all of the pictures I took of it, this is the best one.  The rest just don't do it justice.

Before, this was off limits, but now since the shuttle program retired, you can take photos.  They even slow down the bus!

The Apollo program is one of my favorite parts of KSC.  Those guys had to be CRAZY to get in that little tin can of a think and go around the moon!

I get nervous just thinking about our TV, and adjusting the antennae with that weird dial thing,...
I mean, this was the TV?  And your trusting some guy to blast you to the MOON????

But they did it!

You can actually touch a piece of the moon.

But you still have to wear these stupid glasses to watch something in 3D.  Really?  They can send a guy to the moon and they can't come up with something better than this?

We also got to listen to this guy, Mike Mullane, a real astronaut, talk about his trips to space.  He wrote a book called Do Your Ears Pop in Space and 500 Other Surprising Questions about Space Travel.  He was really interesting and was not at all embarrassed to talk about pooping in space, and showering in space, and telling us if you can send yourself into a vortex by sneezing repeatedly in space.

Would you ride in this?

Then we got to visit with family.

Celebrate a birthday.

Had the 4th of July.

Went to a fashion show.

Had a cupcake war.

And a large from Goldenrod's and our summer was over.

Phew.  Next year we are taking it slow, and hitting Goldenrod's at least TWICE!

Thanks for  making our summer AWESOME!  We wish it went slower and that we had more time with each of you.  We also need to get out the camera when we are with PEPERE, because the only picture we have of him is this one...

Displaying photo.JPG

and this is NOT how we want to remember him!  xoxoxo

Scotland and Wales

So I have been plugging away at this blog, trying to tell a true story, but tonight I am going to rush through this one, because even though these pictures were taken in June, it is now September, and that means it is time for our Chuseok break.  Yup, I am not even finished telling this story, and it is time for the next one to begin.  So here we are in Scotland.

Finally time for the bagpipes!

The port is named Grenock, and it is ok.  We got some toothpaste, colored pencils, and a note pad here.

And I tried to talk Gary into buying this place for me, but he declined.  I thought it would be a nice place for you all to come visit, since no one will visit us in Korea.

We could walk around.

Or take a drive..

and see some sheep...

Until we got here!  Sterling Castle.  If you saw the movie Braveheart, then you know the story of William Wallace.  Well, this is where he was captured.  Which stinks.

Imagine trying to storm this?!?

Much better to just relax and have an ice cream.

Do you think someone is in there?

What can you even say about these two?

The view from the top.  When the castle was built, all the surrounding area was marsh, but now you can live in the Sterling Condo...

This lady has been making a rug by hand for over 4 years.  She (and a team of others) are recreating a rug from the castle using materials as if they were still living way back when.  Except for the Bose headphones.... which block out all of the annoying people trying to talk to her and ask her questions.

A couple more shots before we get back on the boat.

We <3 bagpipes="" td="">

There IS a person inside here, and then a big fan blows him up.. and if it is windy it is really funny to watch him!

The loch ness monster.

Next stop was Wales.  Not so sure I would want to be the prince of here.  It was kind of poor and run down, and the main attraction that we saw was a church group putting on some pretty bad dancing.

But they did have some cute paint jobs.

And a kind of weird bridge that didn't really go anywhere.

But it was ok, until we got back on the bus and headed to the beach front.

So the kids played on the beach, Gary had one big sip...

Ane we got to watch a re-enactment of some battle, with a cannon that fired every 30 minutes on the nose.

After having about 4 heart attacks from the cannons we decided that we had seen enough of Wales and it was time for us to head back to the good old US of A... so here we come!
